Brand launch!

no comments

When a brand like this is launched, you can’t help but want to see it disintegrate and have no one alive make it happen. The Moto X — the truth, the whole package, the entire story — was launched and then some more, treating consumers like dirt for their dime. Some people are hurt more than others, in this case the bloggers who have to read the fine print before buying into the whole smartphone thing. But the general smartphone buying public is getting tired of it soon. Rumors have it that Apple is set to release its own smartphone in the next few months or even some years. Whether or not to dub this trend a rebrand or rip-off is doubtful, as it seems this new breed of inexpensive smartphones is more concerned with breaking records than functionality anymore. They make me want to write a one-sentence review saying how terrific it is that they are making cheap smartphones so accessible to all.

But I doubt it.

Cheap smartphones are HOTT with all the boppy animations, super friendly icons and whatever aesthetic decisions Facebook and Apple make with their operating systems. Cheap smartphones are meant to be cheap, whether you want to or not. And dirt is cheap. And right now, dirt is cheap. And ugly.
