The Type Life letters were slightly modified, but everything about the logo was inspired by the original Pro Type liner-less Pro Type introduced in the early 1960s. The typeface had a very strong and distinctive look to it— especially at small sizes — that was difficult to replicate with the new logo. To advance the legacy of the brand and avoid the aesthetic challenges of designing letterforms with traditional characteristics, we enlarged all the characters and curved lines in the new logo to create a completely reimagined Type Life logo.
